The journey to streamline travel bookings
Offering an unlimited variety of worldwide travel experiences to a loyal customer base can be a complex and painful experience for both agents and customers if you don't have a powerful system to support the selling process and bookings management. The extension of Explorer’s supply together with the level of demand from their customers drove Explorer to look for solutions that would make complex travel plans easy to book for both travel agents and customers online. According to Stephan Braun, Explorer's Managing Director, the aim was to "move away from cryptic booking systems, and reduce time to book by eliminating manual processes of requesting products directly from suppliers, focusing on free sale and live supply products.”
Explorer approached Nezasa with the expectation to streamline their booking process. The objective was simple yet impactful: Enable customers and agents to concentrate on the products and destinations, rather than the booking process.
Nezasa’s TripBuilder was seen as the solution, essentially because of its inherent flexibility, a key characteristic of the solution that was highly valued by Explorer. As Stephan Braun mentions, “it was difficult to find a solution able to combine dynamic content with static, and at the same time cater for individual and group travels” which is exactly what Nezasa’s TripBuilder offers, and why Explorer strongly recommends the solution.
From Explorer’s agents and product managers point of view it is possible to do almost everything with TripBuilder, for those who know the destination, planning from the map is unbeatable, but also the quick and easy process to set up new destinations with self-drives. In addition, the company points out that thanks to the availability of API content for European destinations, it has been possible to share modules or products with other Nezasa customers, further reducing the need for supplier contracts.
Reduction in time per booking
In terms of results Stephan Braun highlights a “25% reduction in time per booking, thanks to the ability to seamlessly book complex itineraries”, and also emphasises how easy it is now to train and onboard new travel agents, as the use of complex systems has been eliminated.
Explorer aims to establish a component booking solution for complex and commodity component itineraries, while at the same time empowering travel agents to confidently sell products and provide expert advice based on the information indexed by TripBuilder even for unfamiliar destinations. The goal is clear: to triple the revenue in the medium term.
