Who is Latin America Tours?

Latin America Tours is an independent Tour Operator for tailor made individual tours to the Caribbean (mainly Cuba and the Dominican Republic) and to most countries in Central and South America with Headoffice in Zurich, Switzerland. Our travel designers are located all over Switzerland and Germany and are among the best in the travel industry. They all possess great knowledge on destinations and products. To travel, is to experience up close people and destinations. We know our destinations and the highlights – but also insider tips – and help our clients to choose the right ones and to create a journey of a lifetime. Our clients get inspired by our offers and we tailor make every trip. We cater mainly to individual tours, be it self-drive tours or private tours and small group tours. 

Back in 2016, when you reached out to Nezasa, what problems were you trying to solve and how were they affecting you?

At that time we used to work with several destination websites with static pricing for our products, and all the contacts and sales were offline. Soon we noticed that a) we were losing on our competitiveness and b) that no journey was ever booked as described on the website. In addition to that, we wanted to become the only contact for our customers for their whole journey. Therefore, the decision was taken not to offer individual rates for hotels or short tour packages, but to create and offer complete tour packages from start-to-end.

Why did you end up choosing our platform?

When we were first shown the project by Manuel (Nezasa’s CEO), we noticed right away what kind of a potential this new tool has and what kind of advantages it will bring us and our customers. We were happy that the Nezasa team was composed of tech people rather than tourism professionals and that – of course – it is a Swiss start-up. Since the beginning, the team was always open to accept our suggestions to improve our business from the tourism perspective.

As one of the early customers of Nezasa, how does the collaboration currently work?

The collaboration with Nezasa works smoothly, although there are some minor obstacles to solve. Our destinations in the Caribbean and South America are still far away from being digitized and much handwork is still needed to create our own inventory, since many of our products are nowhere online yet.

What did you like the most about working with Nezasa over the past years?

Generally the achievements and advancements of the platform. We knew from the beginning that a lot more can and will be developed but everything takes its time. Response time is very fast and problem solving orientated.

How is Nezasa integrated into your daily business with agents and customers?

It has been an ongoing process to uncouple from the traditional workflow towards using Nezasa and its possibilities. Still today we are not fully ready, but this is mainly due to Covid-19 and our limited personnel resources. In most of our destinations we have now designed a good selection of modular self-drive trips with a good selection of our own inventory, and soon, some third party inventory will be made available as well. Our B2C customers are starting to use the tool for the planning of their trip and in many cases this will generate a booking request. We only started B2B this year and here we are still in the process to inform our agents about the tool and its nearly unlimited possibilities. So far, only a few agents have been trained and used the system on their own. However, we are happy to tailor make a trip for the agents and they can forward the program in their name and with their address and logo to the end customer.

Which advantages have you experienced so far with Nezasa?

It gives us a great flexibility once the products have been designed and loaded. Prices are updated immediately and currencies can be swapped depending on the client’s preference. The presentation with the maps and the possibility to have detailed information about the products with many quality images is far beyond any printed brochure or uploaded PDF content.

Would you recommend Nezasa’s software integration? To whom?

Nezasa can be used by nearly everybody working in the travel industry wanting to advance in digitalisation. Whether you upload your own inventory or take advantage of the third party distributors the system is quite easy to understand and start working

Can you give a general outlook on your future plans?

Our future planning goes towards making as many of our products onlineable. We are aware that this might take some time because of some delays in the developments in our main destinations, but we aim at starting with small group tours with a set departure date.
